Accreditation

On August 29, 2025 Lighthouse Christian School of Valdosta met the requirements for Full Accreditation for grades Pre-Kindergarten Three Year Olds thru the 12th Grade. This accreditation is recognized by the Department of Education in the State of Georgia and the American Association of Christian Schools nationwide.

The accreditation process is a necessary part of a school educational program. This program is recognized by a variety of entities, some of which are the University System of Georgia, Technical College System of Georgia, Georgia Student Finance Commission (HOPE Scholarship), the Georgia Department of Education, and Georgia Private School Accreditation Council (GAPSAC).  The evaluation shows the strengths and weaknesses of the overall program.  With these results Lighthouse Christian School is able to keep improving and providing the best education possible for its students while helping parents to fulfill their responsibility in raising their child to honor God. The Mission Statement of Lighthouse Christian School is to help parents train students to serve God by providing an excellent academic education while developing areas of Christian leadership, respect, self-discipline, obedience, and patriotism.

The philosophy of Lighthouse Christian School in simplified terms may be defined as that which we believe. It is the basic foundation of all education. The objective in Lighthouse Christian School’s educational program is to obey the Scriptural imperatives of (Deuteronomy 6:5-7) “… love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children…

Lighthouse Christian School’s goal is to provide a Christian educational program which helps today’s students to learn to see all life from God’s point of view and be trained in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6), building upon Biblical values and divine absolutes to enable them to evaluate the present and make wise decisions for the future.

The staff is to be congratulated on a job well done as they are laying the foundation for a better culture as our children become adults and prayerfully and wisely apply God-centered thinking in their choices throughout life.

Lighthouse Christian School is also a member of the Valdosta, Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce.
